Based on qualitative interviews with 17 Millennial and 4 older Christian missionaries, this project considers how and why some Millennials become Christian missionaries despite growing up in a largely secular Britain. The project examines Millennial attitudes to areas such as religion, work, mental health, culture, commitment, etc. and identifies authenticity as a key motivating factor, as Millennial Christians negotiate a path between the evangelical and secular narratives with which they were raised.
